NZI celebrated its 150th birthday in 2009. To celebrate this huge milestone, Rocket was asked to design and build a display for a range of heritage items that had been collected and stored in a backroom for many years.

Rocket worked with a well-known historian to research the background of the many heritage pieces. Once the facts were collated, we set to work on designing a showcase in fitting with the stature of the collection.

Layouts were developed, backing panels were fabricated with custom mounting brackets and tonal images of past history were digitally printed as a backdrop to enhance the display. In several cases custom built enclosures were required to protect the items from atmospheric conditions.

In all, there are 16 display panels over 4 floors with a directory panel in each lift lobby.
